Using the forum. By registering on this forum, you agree to use it properly, and to refrain from posting any content that is aggressive, offensive, defamatory, hateful, or in violation of applicable laws and regulations. You agree not to post messages inciting or evoking illegal practices, or violating the terms of use of the service.
The moderators and administrators of this forum will do their best to delete or edit any reprehensible messages that may be posted on the forum. You acknowledge that all messages posted on this forum express the opinion of their respective authors, and do not necessarily reflect the position of the moderators and administrators.
In order to ensure the moderation of this forum, any message violating the preceding provisions may be edited or deleted without notice by the moderators and administrators of the forum. Any abuse may also be sanctioned by banning or deleting the user account. We reserve the right to inform your access provider and/or the judicial authorities of any malicious behaviour.
Your personal data. By registering on this forum, you agree that it may collect some of your personal data. This data collection is done either through the information you provide us, or through the use of the services itself, for technical data used for the forum proper functioning. - You grant moderators of this forum the right to delete, move or edit any topic at any time.- This is a school-sanctioned forum. Although this does not mean in the slightest that it can't be fun, there are certain standards to be upheld. Use common sense when posting - do not post anything that could be perceived as offensive. When in doubt, ask yourself if you would say what you are about to post in front of Ms. Duncan - or by extension, any of the Biotech teachers. They have forum accounts and occasionally check out forum activity, so they are one and the same.
- Usernames must follow the format of Firstname.Firstinitialoflastname for accountability issues. Everything you say can then be attributed to you (with double verification via IP address).
- A language filter is in place that automatically will censor a list of inputted curse words. Do not attempt to get around this system. Profanity, including slang that stands for profanity, is against the rules.
- Respect the forum administrators and moderators, as they are in charge of the forum. Disrespect of authority is considered an offense. Moderators themselves are subject to audit by administrators and by the Biotech board and faculty members.
- Minor offenses will result in a warning and automatic edit by moderating staff. Moderate offenses, or multiple minor offenses, may result in a suspension of account for a given period of time. Major offenses or multiple of the aforementioned level will result in a ban - your account will be deactivated, and you will not be allowed to register another account. Serious offenses will be immediately reported to Sheldon faculty, who will follow procedure in terms of punishment (detention, Saturday School, suspension, etc.) The school code has provisions for online conduct and "cyberbullying." Just because this is an online forum does not mean you will not be held accountable for any mal-actions, just as you are held accountable for malicious conduct on any other social media site (e.g. Facebook, Twitter).
